The holidays my family celebrate

One of the many holidays that my family celebrates is Thanksgiving. On thanks giving my family goes to my grandma and grandpas house around 1 p.m.. the First thing that we do before we eat is pray. We all get in a big circle in the living room and we hold hands to pray. Then we go to the kitchen and eat. We usually eat ham, turkey, corn, mashed potatoes, and a lot of pie for desert. Then we will go sit down in the living room and watch a movie after that we would go outside and shoot guns. My brothers and I bring our guns and we also shoot my uncles and my grandpas guns. This year we plan on doing the same thing.

My family also celebrate Christmas. On Christmas eve my little sisters poor a glass of milk and put a few cookies on a plate for Santa. Then we will watch a Christmas movie and eat some cookies before bed. I will help my mom bring some of the presents out and put them under the tree before I go to bed. When we wake up in the morning my mom will make us some breakfast. As soon as all of the breakfast mess is picked up we will then go open presents. I think that the best part about Christmas morning is seeing my little sisters smile from ear to ear.

  1. Hi Carson, I really liked your blog post about which holidays you celebrate. I have most of the same traditions on Thanksgiving as you do. I go all the way to Wisconsin for my Thanksgiving though. I like how you help out a lot on Christmas. I spend my holidays with my with my families too.

  2. I love the last line of your Christmas post. I liked how you listed the food that you eat at Thanksgiving. Your description of both holidays is excellent! Good job!

  3. Carson,
We also celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada but we do it in October. The actual Thanksgiving Day is on a Monday but most people eat their meal on the Sunday. We don't have school or work on the Monday so many people just hang out and eat leftovers.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for you guys right? Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Carson,
How awesome that your family enjoys similar hobbies together. We celebrate with similar food-- and I love pumpkin pie the best--, but we don't shoot guns; we play music and sing songs, play board games and laugh and visit together. We gather together from all over for a celebration for two days, then we go home for individual family Christmas, like you do too. Isn't it great that we can all enjoy our own family traditions? I love that.

    Have a wonderful holiday!
